Plants are the most important source of medicine to the mankind. Ancient and traditional verbal as well as documented sources are treasure of potential medicinal properties of plants. In the new era of science and technology there is increasing need to validate the claims of traditional knowledge database for safe, easily available, cheap, side-effect free healthcare provisions. Many herbal plants are used to treat various kinds of diseases. In this article one of the important potential plant and their uses are discussed which is Fagonia schweinfurthii. It is found in various part of world like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Kenya, Eritrea, Iran, India and Pakistan. The various parts like roots, stem, shoots and leaves has been used to treat in wound healing, allergies, inflammation, boils, leprosy, skin diseases, hemorrhoids, sores, pain reliever, ear infection and endothermic reactions in the body. The entire plant is employed medically and it is well-known plant in mountainous regions as a source of fever relief. It is an efficient cooling agent for mouth infection. It has a reputation for cleansing the blood and serving as de-obstruent. Cullen plicata is an endangered herbaceous plant which is found at margin of water bodies. It is a medicinally important plant which is a species of genus Psoralea and belongs to the family Fabaceae. This herbaceous species found in India, Africa, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan and Western Sahara. This plant can be used to treat diarrhea, hyperacidity, spasm, diseases of uterus and vaginal gonorrhea. Roots of Cullen plicata are used to treat skin diseases, blood purifier, psoriasis and it contains antioxidant activity. In local language Cullen plicata is commonly known as Jhil and in English called as Scurfy Pea. In this review, it reveals the phytochemical and pharmacological studies of Cullen plicata which possess an important medicinal activity. During the literature survey, it has been proven that Cullen plicata contains active phytoconstituents which can be utilize in medicine, health care, cosmetics and as health supplements. This plant has a number of various pharmacological actions and some activities like antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-mosquitoes have been proved by some researchers.
